Sherwin-Williams is an international market leader with multiple building material product lines. Most notable to the average consumer is its product offering of zero and low VOC paints under the Harmony, Duration, ProGreen, and Builders Solution brands.

As a corporation, Sherwin-Williams is taking a very aggressive position towards reducing its environmental impact. Internally, the company has launched ECOVISION™, a comprehensive, all inclusive, ongoing corporate initiative to produce sustainable products and implement positive environmental processes throughout its operations and distribution. Some examples of successes from this program are quoted directly from the corporate website: "reducing waste and conserving natural resources in our manufacturing facilities; partnering with the U.S. EPA in their SmartWay® and Climate Leaders® programs; implementing recycling programs at our offices, distribution centers and facilities; installing energy efficient systems at new plant facilities; pioneering the use of renewable or sustainable raw materials in some formulations; using blown-in line colorant bottles that require less resin, save freight costs and reduce the volume of hazardous waste; packaging our GreenSure® designated paints in plastic containers that are 100% recycled from post-consumer resin – complete with soy-printed labels containing 75% recovered fiber and 25% post-consumer waste."

Sherwin-Williams is an outstanding corporate citizen. The company supports a very strong initiative for charitable giving throughout the world. This is a forward thinking company with a keen awareness of its environmental and community impact as well as a strong determination towards constant improvement. Sherwin Williams has nurtured this type of corporate citizenship amongst its employees as well. For example, 1200 employees from across the US and Canada donated 7200 hours for a day of community service in Dallas. The end result was a group of ten Dallas non-profit agencies with a marked improvement in physical appearance. Sherwin-Williams has three times been recognized as one of Forbes top 100 places to work in the US. In addition, 30 percent of its employees have worked there for over ten years.
